This is the update to the update…To the update. How many updates does it take to screw a light bulb? The answer is none! You know that’s impossible right? Updates…Don’t have hands. Ok. I’ll need someone stop me now. It’s for everyone’s safety. I can’t stop typing this nonsensical humor.
Welcome back to this dusty old blog! How have you been? Yeah. Me too.
Been eating my vegetables(yuck), nails look amazing, hair’s growing…Skin’s glowing. To all the people in my comments asking me to drop a skin care routine. This post is especially for you. It’s a different kind of post today…Skin care! My regimen has drastically changed since my last 2 skin care posts here and here.
Now I’m using the all natural stuff. You know. Stuff with fancy ingredient names and stuff that smells like plants. The shea butters, the cocoa butters, the kales, the pomegranates, the charcoal… I get fewer breakouts and boy am I glad.
This is the photo that launched a thousand ships. The photo that everyone was asking me about my skin care on Facebook. Obviously I’m wearing makeup but very minimal. Thanks t good skin care I’m able to wear tinted moisturizer and go makeup-free almost every day. So if you see me in Sarit, you’ve probably seen me without makeup. 2 Years ago? Hell would have to freeze over before I went outside without foundation.
Let’s begin,shall we?
Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser
My cleanser is better than yours. It really gets in there and gets all the dirt and grime out. All hail the Biore cleanser! I tell you this stuff is a thing of legends.
I have one word for this facial scrub. And that is…WAU!! I use this after cleansing, to remove dead skin and debris to reveal smooth skin. This leaves my skin feeling smooth afterwards because of shea butter. The coffee is rich in antioxidants which helps with hyperpigmentation and signs of ageing. I’m not just saying guys. This is the best scrub I have ever used. If Dr.Botanicals ever went out f business I don’t know what I’d do with myself.
Pull up a chair and prepare to have your mind blown. The way this charcoal mask works, is that is draws out impurities, leaving skin feeling smooth and squeaky clean (unlike my dusty car). I live!
This is where the glow starts. After using the Charcoal detox mask, I use 2 hydrating masks in rotation, to put back the good stuff into my skin. Later in the week after using the charcoal mask, I either use the Pomegranate Sleeping Mask or the Cocoa and Coconut Mask. The Pomegranate one I wear overnight. My skin usually feels hydrated and plump after using these.
I then use this serum under my eyes. It helps with dark circles/hyper pigmentation and wrinkles. Because let’s FACE it. **Wink** See what I did there? FACE IT? No? Ok. I need this serum because I laugh too much. Like how I’m laughing at my bad jokes as I type this. I laugh even when nothing is funny. I will use this till I can use it no more.
How old were you when you found out that what we know as kale in Kenya is actually collard greens. So the main active ingredient in this moisturizer is not sukuma wiki. It is kale. Haha. I live and breathe this mosturizer! It hydrates my oily skin without feeling greasy. It actually mattifies the face. Even with oily skin you NEED a moisturizer because skipping it means your skin over-produces oil to try and compensate for the lack of moisture. That means more acne. I don’t know what to tell you. You just need to try it for yourself.
I’m now on the hunt for a natural sunscreen that doesn’t cause breakouts and doesn’t look ashy. Because we know how these sunscreens are, especially on dark skin.
I know it seems like a lot but it really isn’t. It takes effort to get good skin. Unfortunately not all of us can splash water on our face and dash out the door like a Victoria’s Secret supermodel.
All products available HERE ** P.s I do own this store. But I only recommend these products because I use them and love them!
